Mobile social networks grow fast
Launched in November 2006 mobile social network EZ Gree (Japan) passed one million users in July 2007. On latest LinuxWorld in S.F., Motorola showed Motomagx, the latest version of its mobile Linux platform. Motomagx offers a new development option, called WebUI, to help bring Web 2.0 applications to phones. It lets developers to use AJAX on mobile phones through the WebKit (open source browser engine). WebUI, Java, and Linux itself will be the major development environments for Motorola's Linux phones. And not just for Motorola's only.
* Motorola formed the LiMo Foundation (Linux phones community) along with NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Vodafone, Samsung, and Matsushita Electric Industrial (Panasonic).
