tobto: What is your first experience in photo?
J: I have arranged my first photosession with a new camera Sony DSR-828, during a visit to my mom. Object for shooting I chose was a red mom's doggie on the name of Jerric. Naturally, it's appeared not so simple as I imagined. At first, Jerric in any way did not wish to sit on one place and all time it strove to be hammered under a bed. Secondly, not having yet any experience, I have incorrectly chosen mode for shooting, and almost all the frame have appeared greased and underexposed. Nevertheless, some successful photos were taken. So my first masterpiece under the name of "Portrait Of A Red Dog" was born.
tobto: Did you take any special school?
J: No, I did not pass any specialized training. I all studied myself - read books on photo and digital processing, searched for the helpful information on the Internet, scrupulously studied photos of famous photographers. Invaluable expierence I have taken on composition of shooting frame and lighting when we both with my husband were engaged in musical videos and TV ads shooting. Me as a scripwriter, my husband - as the director. We had to spend a lot of time for a set, but then during 10-12 hours per day to mount and process the finished material.
'My inner voice is calling me in the magic world of photography. This world is lovely and various, but unfortunately it isn't always kind and fair. Therefore sometimes I want to make my own world, fantastic world, world without sufferings and anger, without envy and lie. I want that my world would be full of beauty and dreams, cleanness and love. And I invite you in this world to find and feel harmony inside yourself...
tobto: What made you a photographer (for sure, did!), perhaps, in childhood?
J: In general, my dad really was in photo. I remember well, how I adored to watch how my father prints black-and-white pictures at our night kitchen. But nevertheless acquaintance in wide to the photo world had occured much later. Once me and my husband had to shoot next music video. The shooting had to be gone at famous photo artist Vladimir Shulevsky studio, but we were not familiar before. Its magnificent staff of the nature and still-lives became for me a push to take camera in my hands.
tobto: Did you remember your first perfect shot?
J: It is difficult to me to be objective to the works I had taken and furthermore to carry this or that picture to a category "perfect". Probably, the spectator should do it. But my first work a spectators liked. That photo was called "The Travelling Island". I have exposed it on one of popular Russian web photosites. Absolutely unexpectedly for me that work became "Photo Of The Day". Certainly, it was very pleasant to me.
tobto: Does the Art is something for you?
J: On my deep belief, everything, where you put your soul in can be called as the Art. And it is not important you are the photographer or not, musician or master of wooden pupies. The most important - to be sincere to yourself and work hard eternally.
tobto: Do you work to some scenario, to your imagination, or that is impulse of your inner?
J: Everything, that I shoot on a streets - landscapes, animals, people, as a rule, is a pure impromptu. Though studio session I plan in advance, as very often in my head different unexpected ideas start to come in during work. But in general, the most important is the desire to shoot. I very like to create something when I feel inspiration. Then all turns out easily and harmoniously. Unfortunately, nobody can't plan it. But even when I have got not so well mood I continue to work - I study something, try to experiment.
tobto: What part of your imagination takes a software tools, like Photoshop?
J: Absolutely all my works go through Photoshop. Even if the shot has turned out successful, I do a minimal lighting and color adjusting. Modern digital cameras (and I use only digital cameras), unfortunately, see object not such as human eye does. Therefore, it is necessary to lead image by means of the graphic editor to such kind which is most comfortable for the spectator.
tobto: Photoshop makes pictures better or better to shot nice pictures from the start?
J: At present digital technologies allows to make of poor-quality photos quite decent ones. I don't know, that is good or bad. Each photographer, probably, should choose its own way. Certainly, from the beginning I try to take a best picture as much as I can, but also I consider digital processing as an integral part of my creativity.
tobto: Where do you go?
J: The ultimate goal has no special value. I simply very much like to create my own world by means of photography.
tobto: At last, some advices for freelancers: there are the ocean of cameras on the market right now, what camera can you recommend to start with?
J: All depends of what person is intend to shoot: if landscapes - it to be necessary the one, if some sort of documentary - another, for macro shooting - the third. I think it is better to learn features of different cameras in specialized printed mags, in internet where professional testors give the detailed description of newest photo gear.
tobto: And for the finish, in general, can woman freelancer start its own photographer independent living based on photographing?
J: I think, all depends only on that - how much the woman herself wants something to achieve.
tobto: Thank you very much!
